Wreck Specialty Course Anyone???

Postby ksax » Tue Mar 02, 2010 7:35 pm

I'm interested in doing a wreck specialty course. So I've been looking around and Aquatic Adventures in Hallam is doing a course for $320, including all four dives on the Ex HMAS Canberra.

Has anyone found anything cheaper?

Is anyone interested in doing this course with me???

Let me know!

sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if this is not just another course to get PADI some extra $$.. Does anyone know of other providers who may provide better courses?
And a wreck course on the canberra is a bit like navigation in a pool... You cant get stuck in the ship, and getting lost after 1-2 dives should be fairly difficult as well..

Hi Guys
I have a wreck course running teaching with AB Ocean divers in East Bentleigh who run our OW and AOW courses. We do dives on J4, Canberra, Coogee Eliza Ramsden for example. As I am also a qualified cave instructor i will extend your guideline/reel use as well as teach you a few extra things if interested. We also teach quite a bit of history and background to wrecks in Melbourne. Our full price is $450 but ask for your MUUC discount. Includes 3 nights of theory and 4 boat dives. Course runs 22-28 March. Theory 22,24 and 25. Contact Ocean divers if interested info@oceandivers.com.au.

Or even better for a couple of hundred bucks more ($695) why not do CDAA Deep Cavern? gets you wreck cert, twin tanks and deep as well as sinkhole all in one course?

Would reccomend this course! It certainly is not an easy course but you WILL be a much better diver after completing it! And, as Terri said, you get Cavern, wreck and deep certs all in one!

I guess the downside is that you will never want to dive in a BCD/single tank set-up again
Cheers,
