I was down at portsea and saw this boat leave and well as those involved.
My mates were involved with the attempted recovery of the rebreather.
they found the lead weights but not the rebreather.

On an interesting note, victoria police would not make a body/equipment recovery below 30m without a ship with a recompression chamber onboard on standby.
this would take weeks to organise and hence why the community attempted recovery of the rebreather.

thoughts go out to the family/friends involved

different to the storey i was told.
i was told that the buddy came across the diver unconcious. i guess this is a more accurate writeup of the incident.
well, i hope that they come to a conclusion to give the family/friends some closure.
