Becoming a member

Becoming a member of the Melbourne University Underwater Club entitles you dive with the club, hire gear, participate in the Annual General Meeting and get discounts on food and drink at our Pub, The Clyde Hotel.

If you'd like to become a member, download the membership forms, print them out and complete them, and then contact our secretary at muuc_secretary@hotmail.com, to arrange submitting your forms and membership fees.

Alternatively, come to a pub dive meeting on Thursday night and we can sort it all out then.

Membership Forms

The membership forms can be downloaded from the Documents section of the site. There are two forms, one to join MUUC and one for the Sports Centre's (MUSA) records. You must complete both. The forms are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, which means you'll Acrobat Reader to read them. Acrobat Reader is available for free from www.adobe.com/acrobat.

Membership Fees

To join the Melbourne University Underwater Club, you need to be a member of the Melbourne University Sports Association (MUSA). This entitles you to use the facilities of the Sports Centre. Melbourne University students are automatically members of MUSA.

Membership is valid from 1st March to 28th February. No pro rata.

Examples of eligible non-students are:

• Graduates or students (of any university)
• University staff
• Resident, member or staff of the University's colleges
• Immediate family of current student or eligible non-students
• Eligible under director's discretion...etc

Costs for Gear Usage and Boat Dives

Members can collect gear from the MUUC shed every Thursday night before or after the pub. Club gear can only be used for club dives. In order to use club gear you need to pay the costs below; these help cover the cost of maintaining and replacing equipment. You must present your membership card to hire gear, no card, no gear.
